Our Story

Eden was given a hearing aid at the age of six to help her right ear hear better. She has diminished unilateral hearing loss in one ear in the higher frequencies. She wore the hearing aid while she was learning to read and write in school. When she no longer needed to wear it, this expensive piece of equipment sat in a drawer.

Move forward five years to a day when we were spring cleaning. We found the hearing aid and Eden said, "Wow, what a waste. Some other kid could have used it." I agreed and went online searching for a place to donate pediatric hearing aids. There were places to donate adult hearing aids, but none really focused on children's.

So we entered our idea in a social enterprise competition called GiveBackHack and won. There you have it. Ears On was officially born. We have moved forward in filing for our 501c3 and receiving donated hearing aids. We're excited to partner with any audiology facilities, or hearing aid loaner banks that may use our donated children's hearing aids.
